Claire’s POV

“Gosh, you’re so full of yourself,” I rolled my eyes at him. In the middle of our banter, my phone rang, and when I checked who it was, it was Dad.

I nervously answered his call. Was there another problem? I hoped not. Losing the majority of the company was already too much. I didn’t know if I could handle more problems.

“Dad?” I said as soon as I answered his call.

“Are you home already?” he asked.

“I am. I’m with Luke,” I said.

“Okay, can you visit us today? I know you just got home from the hospital, but I have something to announce to the family,” he said.

“Is it important?” I asked.

“It’s about Cole,” he sighed on the other line.

“I’m coming to the house. I’ll just finish my lunch, Dad,” I said.

“Okay, just take your time. We will wait for you,” he said, and he ended the call.
