Chapter 23

Luke’s POV

I followed Claire as soon as I realized that Jasper had followed her inside. I had a feeling that Claire acted a little sweet to me earlier because of Jasper. I noticed the way he looked at her and us whenever we were together.

When I got into the living room, I saw them talking. I heard what Jasper said, and it made me uncomfortable thinking about Claire. What if Claire realized she was still into Jasper as well? What about our plan? All I was thinking about was the company. How could we get it if there was someone trying to ruin our plan? I wasn’t just doing this for Claire but for her family as well. I hoped she understood that.

But hearing how Claire told him to respect her relationship with me made me a little happy, though I still shouldn’t have been confident. We still had a lot of time together here, and a lot could change. I just really hoped Claire stuck to our plan.

I went back to the yard before Claire got there. I observed her m
