Claire’s POV
After resting for a while, Mia asked us to join her at the nearby beach. It was almost sunset, and Mia said it was the best place to watch it. I loved sunsets; for me, they symbolized that not all endings were bad. Sunsets were a beautiful conclusion to the day. I excitedly picked up my phone and walked with them. It was really nice to know that the beach was just within walking distance from their house. It felt like a dream living in this neighborhood—it was quiet and clean.
I walked with Mia as she happily shared stories about her childhood here. She told me that their life was very simple yet beautiful. They were content with what they had, though they eventually moved to the city for a better future. I realized she had a lot of cherished memories from her childhood—memories I wished I had, too.
