Chapter 7
Claire’s POV
It was quiet for a second. No one was speaking until Luke decided to talk to me.
“Are you embarrassed or what?” he chuckled.
“Why would I be?” I scoffed. Gosh, I was acting so irritated again.
“Why act like we haven’t met? I even drove you home last night,” he said, shaking his head and smiling like an idiot, as if teasing me made his day complete.
“I was drunk last night, okay?” I said in annoyance.
“I know. But nothing happened between us for you to act this way,” he scoffed.
“I just don’t like you,” I said.
“You don’t like me?” he chuckled. “I don’t like you either, woman. I don’t like brats like you,” he said, still smiling.
“A brat?” I scoffed, and he nodded. “Fine, then maybe I really am a brat,” I said.
I had even wanted to say sorry to him, but now I changed my mind. Maybe he was right—I was a brat. It was quiet once again until my stomach growled, and I wanted the floor to swallow me when I hear
