Chapter 33. Suspicious
After dropping Willow off, Kyler drove around town a bit to please Zoey. They stopped before the movie store, and Zoey looked very excited.
No wonder. Kyler had promised to make popcorn cheese nachos, and they could have a few pieces of chocolate as long as Zoey brushed her teeth well.
While Zoey ran straight to the children’s movie section, Kyler approached the cashier.
“Good afternoon! You look completely unfamiliar. Have you just moved to Cypresswood?” the friendly, bespectacled cashier asked.
Kyler nodded and held out his hand. “Kyler.”
“Looking for a particular genre of movie? I bet your daughter knows her preferences,” the cashier remarked.
Kyler chuckled softly. “Yes, she knows what she wants. She’s a smart kid.”
The teller handed him a form and a pen. “Please fill out the information, Mr. Kyler. You’ll get a membership card soon, and if you rent more than ten movies, you’ll get one as a bonus.”
“Great.”
