Chapter 41. One That Gone Away

“What’s the plan?” Kyler looked at Reeve.

Then, a solid punch from his brother landed in Kyler’s face. Kyler did not react; he just remained silent, a bitter smile forming on his lips.

“You’re working with the Goodwinsons, aren’t you?”

Kyler’s eyes met Reeve’s, but their meaning was difficult to interpret.

“Answer!” Reeve urged.

“I’ve lost everything, don’t you hear?” Kyler replied.

“Do you think I would believe that so easily, brother?” Reeve stressed the last word.

Kyler tilted his face. “You have trust issues?”

A punch, followed by another, struck Kyler’s face, causing drops of blood to fall from the corners of his lips. The other Lycans immediately pulled Reeve back; this was no time for a fight.

“We’ll interrogate him when we get there. This is still Goodwinson’s territory, Reeve. Don’t stir up trouble again,” one of the other Messer pack members said.

Reeve growled but nodded, and they hurried into the darkening woods
