Chapter 64. Veronica’s Theory
The fireplace flickered dimly, casting a warm glow as Max sat waiting in his chair, lost in thought as he stared at the dancing flames licking the wood. The door to the living room was ajar, and Veronica entered, followed shortly by Alan, Henry, and Maria.
Veronica returned home before dinner and asked everyone to gather in the living room afterward.
This made Max even more anxious. He didn’t know Willow’s fate, and he feared that Veronica might bring unwelcome news.
