Chapter 66. Ominous Feeling
What Zoey said last night worried Max. Since Zoey’s dream was unusual for a child her age, it seemed more like a vision.
Whether true or not, the intuition of werewolf or hybrid children was sharper than that of human children.
Max deliberately accompanied Zoey all day when the Paramore pack returned to Phoenix with Alan and Maria.
He put all his work aside, not wanting to be disturbed by anyone. He even ignored Veronica, who asked him to continue the search for Willow and Kyler.
Max delegated that task to his right-hand man and decided to concentrate on talking to Zoey.
“You’re not going to work?” Zoey asked as she played with her dolls in her room.
Max just shook his head. “I want to be with you.”
“It’s okay, Dad. I can play with Jace.”
“Mmm… Jace is busy and has a lot of homework to do,” Max teased.
Zoey was taken aback for a moment. “When do I get to go back to school?”
