Chapter 61. Asked Shawn’s Favor

Police sirens echoed, and Kyler nodded, motioning to Willow. They stealthily left the house and quickly got into the car. Kyler’s plan to contact the police confirmed his assumption that the Goodwinson gang was watching Willow’s house.

As Willow’s car pulled out of the carport, a police car pulled up in front of the Goodwinsons’ sleek black car. Without hesitation, Kyler hit the gas and sped away from the scene.

Through the rearview mirror, Kyler could see Veronica, the Goodwinson representative, looking confused at the police, losing track of both Kyler and Willow.

Meanwhile, Willow remained silent, her thoughts fixated on a person named Jemima, the answers to her questions still eluding her.

When Willow asked about the mysterious woman, Kyler said he would explain later. Unfortunately, Willow felt a pang of jealousy amid their precarious situation.

“Hey, are you okay?” Kyler asked, sensing Willow’s uneasy aura.

Willow nodded quickly. “Yeah.”
