Chapter 89. The Death of Randolph Calamus
The arrival of the Goodwinson pack, aided by Paramore, had been detected by the combined forces of Messer and Calamus at the secret residence.
But now there was nothing they could do but defend themselves. Most of the Messer pack had already left Reeve’s residence.
“We might as well surrender,” Reeve muttered, panicked by the impending attack.
“This is your residence! Can’t you do something to push them back?” Randolph retorted, gritting his teeth. “Are you part of the Messer pack? How dare you act like a coward, Reeve.”
But Reeve paid no attention to Randolph’s words. In Reeve’s mind, everything was already in ruins and there was nothing more he could do. At the very least, stopping and surrendering might earn him Veronica’s forgiveness.
What bothered Reeve the most was Randolph’s attitude. They should have been able to work together or do anything to survive.
“We must fight to the bitter end!” Randolph growled.
