Chapter 139. Hate Me

I crept into the guarded part of the castle. I knew the names of those who kept watch, and I knew which places were not guarded at all. I climbed through one of the windows, which was not difficult because it was on the second floor and not very high. I ventured out and slowly opened the window to search for her with my eyes.
I entered her room as if I were a feather or a leaf of a tree that fluttered in without warning. I looked at her in her bed; she was asleep, and her breathing sounded much calmer. I approached her and stroked her cheek; her red hair was disheveled on the pillow, and she had dark circles under her eyes.
I sat there until she opened her eyes and sensed my presence.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, not knowing if it was a dream or something real. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she was seeing correctly.
“It’s me, do not worry,” I said, kissing her on the forehead and covering her a little with the blanket to keep the cold
