Chapter 20. The Most Important Thing

They were saying my name; they wanted to protect me. They knew I was innocent. They believed me; they knew who I was.
Rachel, Leticia, and Katherine fumed with anger, unable to assimilate what their eyes saw. The guards couldn’t attack so many people; there were too many civilians, and it would be badly seen. Another trumpet sounded in the air and was heard among the crowd, silencing the cries and voices.
A cavalry arrived with the king’s banner, and I watched my husband, who was coming towards me accompanied by his troops. The other guards obeyed immediately, joining their forces and abandoning Leticia.
I sighed; peace had finally arrived. The people cheered for their king, who arrived imposing order and stopping the attack.
Jacob, with his imposing and strong presence, spoke loudly for all present. I saw Lion at his side, another of the people to whom I owed my life.
