Chapter 21. You Know
DOVE
Before leaving our bedroom, we went to look for one of my favorite books, which I hoped was still in good condition. It had a green moss cover and was a hundred pages long, a short book, a romantic novel with a happy ending that I used to read often, being so light. There, I deposited some notes with thoughts and memories that I wanted to preserve.
Jacob seemed to find it and pointed it out to me; it was under the mahogany coffee table. I was about to extend my hand to remove the blankets and clear the way when I caught a glimpse of a flash that blinded me.
As I pulled the blanket, the dagger was completely exposed, and I was frozen, as if time had stopped. I looked back and saw Jacob staring at me fixedly, like a hunter contemplating his prey, watching my movements.
“So… you know.” His voice sounded more and more severe, but his eyes focused on me with that love that I knew he had for me. However, I was afraid that in him was that ruthless killer ready
