My daily routine was a simple act. I would brew a cup of coffee with a pinch of salt, which I found greatly enhanced its flavor. Smoky, if there was no smoke coming out of the cup, it was no longer any fun. I also liked to have pumpkin and nut muffins with my coffee.
Breakfast was the most important meal of the day. I would stretch as soon as I finished breakfast to stay alert. To wake up fully and have a clear mind.
I was practically dancing down the hallways. The girl had finally left, and I felt a much lighter atmosphere in her absence.
“She has a heavy presence, don’t you think?” I asked Mirna, who had been a frequent companion of mine lately.
Before, I would have been disgusted by the mere fact that she was breathing near me. Now, I didn’t like being alone all day as much. Having her company was much less unpleasant.
