He didn’t seem like the person Jason had talked to; he must have ingested some kind of substance, and that was making him behave so strangely. He had stood up to dance and then started singing at the top of his lungs. I handed him my water canteen to drink from, and he finished it in a few moments, throwing it to the ground.
“You’ve turned out to be a damned king. I still see garbage over there,” he said, pointing to the corner where there were piles of debris from some construction. “Dirt everywhere, disgusting…”
He was in a very detached state from reality, and if I tried to go along with him, who knows where we would end up.
“Next time, try not to die in your attempt to rule this horrible city,” he said, letting out a long laugh and then hiding his face with both hands as if he were terrified. “I’m afraid of ghosts. Go away.”
