Chapter 26. Exploring New Territory
The land was foreign as they twisted and turned through the thickest parts of the forest. Soil struck their feet hard—nothing like their Mother Country. The lack of rain they experienced must be to blame. England was always so moist and dank. A proven perk to hunting their prey since the thick air made it easy to slip in and out of the shadows.
“We have not seen one mortal since we left the docks in London, Lilith.”
“I am certain we will come across some soon, Drake. There are rumors that these humans are savages, and no one should miss them. We can live here for a century or two undetected!” She said to Dracula as she stroked his cheek with the back of her hand.
“Let’s hope you are right, or we may have no choice but to dine on the deer.”
“Stop with such foolishness. We are vampires and should not be ashamed of our unique nature. Deer are for mortals.”
