The training left Alec weak with worry. He needed to drink and hated to admit it himself, too. How could he take a human life? 

“You don’t have to kill them, you know. You only have to take enough to survive. It is what most of us, civilized creatures, do these days.” Said Dracula.

Alec raised a brow in the retort at Dracula’s statement. Was the vampire good at reading thoughts? It was so unsettling. Yet, not killing humans lessened the bile churning in his stomach. Still, could he satisfy his thirst for the evening?

“Come. We will hunt. I believe you will be easier to train than Armand. It is easy. But some vampires find it easier with restraint if they maintain their human conscience.”
