Chapter 51

"What's got you in a good mood today?" Mom asks me as I hum a tune while fixing myself a quick snack: a tuna sandwich.

"She made up with Carl, he even dropped her off from school today," Megan replies excitedly.

"That's great, honey," mom hugs me and gives Megan a quizzical look. "Why are you so excited?"

"Because now I can hang out with Carl and not feel bad about it."

"What makes you think he would want to hang out with you after breaking up with Sam?" Tanya quips.

"Because we're friends."

Tanya chuckles and shakes her head. "You poor thing."

"Alright, that's enough girls, let's just be happy for Sam for making up with her boyfriend and be glad that it didn't get to the break up stage," mom says.

"Yay for Sam," Megan cheers sarcastically and mom gives her a look.

"Why are we yaying for Sam?" Dad asks as he walks in from the back door.

"She made up with Carl," Megan answers.
