My girls walk over to me and I pull a straight face so they wouldn't see how hurt I am.

"What happened?" Olive asks and I narrate everything to them, while still trying to hold back my tears.

"You did what, girl? Now why did you pick up Adrian's call in Carl's presence? That was a dumb thing to do, you know that Adrian likes you," Miranda says and I smile; even when you are crying a bucket, Miranda will always be honest and blunt. My smile soon fades when I realize what she just said.

"How do you know Adrian has feelings for me?" I ask, confused.

"You don't know?" She asks incredulously. "You really are naïve and stupid, you poor thing."

"That's enough, Miranda," Olive scolds her and turns to me. "Do you really not know that Adrian has feelings for you?"

"I do not."
