Amelia’s POV

“The man that took you is his brother and he orchestrated the whole thing to get you to sign over the money to him.” Richard said and I remained silent for what felt like a few minutes.

I needed to process and make sense of what he had just said since it didn’t make sense to me.

“What did you just say?” I asked before turning to face Marcus on the bed, “what does he mean by that?” I asked him but he couldn’t say anything, he just stared at me with an unreadable expression on his face.

“I warned you to stay away from him Amelia, he helped his brother kidnap you and they were going to force you to sign the papers that…”

“He saved me, Ric,” I declared, unable to come to terms with this revelation, “he took a bullet for me, he stopped his so-called brother from killing me.”
