Chapter 85. Freedom Is the Punishment

The werewolves left with Mr. Gustave and Giovanna's guardian watched in awe. Then he turned to Giovanna and pointed to the door, which closed behind the werewolves. Mr. Gustave's wails and curses could still be heard in the distance.

"I beg you to kill me, before you condemn me to go through... that."

Giovanna smiled.

"If you cooperate, I have a much simpler punishment in mind for you. You won't get away with it, though."

"What do you want to know?"

Giovanna's gaze turned dark.

"Luc... Did he always know where I was, and that I was being abused?"

"He didn't even know you existed, Giovanna."

"What do you know about him? About his past?"

The tutor shifted uncomfortably.

"I don't know much about his relationship with you, or with his brother in the past. Before you... Resurfaced."

"And after I resurfaced..."
