Chapter 24. Fear of the Unknown

Jordan arrived with Raika, who was as red as the dress she had worn to the restaurant dinner.

Brendon looked at her disapprovingly, as it was obvious that she had spent the night in Jordan's apartment. But he preferred not to say anything so as not to embarrass her more than she already seemed to be. He loved Jordan, but he was afraid he would do something bad to Raika. She was a good woman and deserved promises made to her to be kept and he had never seen his friend date anyone for more than three days. He worried that Jordan had rushed into his proposal, because it was a scientific fact that euphoric people tended to make decisions they regretted once they were back to normal. And besides, he still didn't really understand what it meant to be a werewolf. If that story was true, could Jordan hurt Raika? He didn't know, but she certainly wouldn't want to marry someone who looked like an animal. It wouldn't be fair to keep something like that from her.<
