We sneaked out of the gardens with Sia, Finn, Owen, and Kalix. We went straight to the lake. We had to be careful because Rogues could walk around freely on the other side of the water. The lake was the edge of where we lived. Rogues rarely cross paths, so 3 Alpha males would have to be very stupid to try to attack them.

The King put all of his lands on high alert because there had been a few attacks near the river and there were two big events coming up. On my 18th birthday, outsiders had their last chance to try to kill me before I took the throne. The induction ceremony added more people to the High Council that they didn’t want.
