Chapter 37. Unveiled Intentions

 Elise’s POV

I didn’t know how tired I really was until I shut my eyes and fell asleep right away. When I finally woke up, I rubbed my eyes to try to keep them open. I wanted to help my people and make them feel better. I did a full body stretch and then jumped up and slapped my cheeks. I needed to know where everything was and what was needed to make everyone better.

I saw Carmelita and made my way slowly towards her. “Hey, Doc, can you tell me that we’re making good progress?”

“Yes, princess, we have for sure. Everyone who was in the other wing had already been sent home. There is no wolfsbane in the blood of any of the over 200 wolves that were hurt, but they all got better. The herbs that you and Beta Owen brought saved lives.”

“That makes me so happy to hear. I wanted to do more to help, but I didn’t know how tired I was. But I’m ready to go now. What should we do?”

“Oh, princess, you don’t need to do that. You should go home and give us a chance
