Chapter 5

Serene’s POV

I laughed, finding his childish antics endearing. I heard the click of my seat belt as he fastened it.

At the same time, he flicked my forehead. “You always forget your seatbelt, ma’am.”

He paused, then looked at my face again. “You really look very stressed, love,” he said with a smile.

I grabbed a thermos flask from the front of the car and playfully hit him on the head. “Ouch! Love, I’m sorry!”

I hit him again, and he reacted like a child. “Ughhh, love, take it easy.”

I pinched his side. If he wasn’t my friend, I might have wanted to strangle him.

He burst out laughing. His face and ears turned red from laughing.

“Stop frowning,” he said.

I grabbed the thermos and gestured for him to drive. “Just drive.”

“Kiss first,” he snorted, and I laughed out loud nervo
