Chapter 108. Desperate Measures
Fiona woke up feeling like shit the morning after Carlos had barged in asking about Jason. It occurred to her that she had cried herself to sleep. She had a shower that lasted way too long because she did more than shower in there.
She cried, screamed, and wondered where it all went wrong. At first, she found herself thinking: Maybe I was wrong, maybe I shouldn’t have thought at all about his dead twin brother who I had been with in Vegas before causing his no doubt gruesome death.
After that line of thought, she began to think: Even if I were wrong, he ought to have stopped; he ought to have listened, right? And that brought her back full circle with thoughts of whether she deserved what ought to be common courtesy enjoyed by other people.
