Chapter 123. A Warning
Fiona did not want to get out of bed. She was still reeling from everything that had happened last night. The Leopard Seal had returned. While he was away, she had come up with a theory: the loneliness she felt had nothing to do with him as a person, but with the fact that she had been separated from all of society and he was the closest contact she had.
She had used that thought to console herself, telling herself that she was not missing him but simply missing human connection. She had been able to ignore the flaw in her logic — the simple fact that Dahlia showed up from time to time and that she had nice conversations with the doctor.
Speaking of the doctor, she needed to speak to him about contraceptive options. She had every intention of enjoying the full package that the Leopard Seal brought to the table next time. That thought brought her mind back to last night. He had sent her to the heavens and turned her to putty in his hands. She had wanted to cry.
