Chapter 74. Once Is a Coincidence
After dropping the call, Carlos recalled the book he’d gotten from Ashley—a memory of his mother. He was not a book reader, and it did not quite appeal to him to sit for hours staring at words on a page that told stories of things that never happened, but at the same time, he figured it couldn’t hurt to pass the time if by some miracle he found it interesting.
He picked up the book off the nightstand and flipped open the first page. He got all the way to page fourteen before he gave up entirely. It took him way too much time and perseverance to get to that page, and by the time he had given up on further reading, he had already found his way to the bed and turned back and forth on it a few times.
From what little he had read from the book, he could tell a bit of the story. It was about three girls who were in a pop music band in the 80s and 90s and their struggles over the next few years. Carlos could not see himself reading about a bunch of girls going on musical tours
