Chapter 8. The Curtain Call

Savannah’s POV

Watching the Kaiser brothers stare down Derek is like watching a great white shark about to attack its prey. Not only that they are taller and bigger than Derek, but there are two of them. I can tell Derek’s trying his best not to be intimidated, but he is. Their presence isn’t felt just between us, but with the whole room too. They are emanating this dark, masculine vibe as their eyes scan around the room. Everyone who sees them will do a double look. Girls bat their eyelashes at them and guys stagger back, wondering who they were.

“Anyway,” I interject to ease the tension. “Logan and Harlan are just here to take me to the party and now that I’m here, they can leave!”

I say the last part purposefully loud so the brothers will take the hint. But they’re clearly ignoring me.

“I don’t have anywhere to be,” Logan shrugs, throwing his brother a look.

“Yeah, maybe we can stay here for a while,” Harlan shrugs back.
