Chapter 10
Mary bit her lips, uncomfortable with the idea, but she nodded all the same. She knew when Silver had her mind made up, and she knew she wasn’t going to listen to her no matter how much she tried to detract her from the mission. Moreover, she was right. They didn’t come to the pack to be guests and get fattened up on their food. They had a mission by the alpha of their pack, and they were going to carry it out.
“Okay,” Silver said as she saw the agreement in Mary’s eyes. “Let’s eat, and I will get going. You will have to go to the kitchen and find something to engage yourself with while I do what I want to do.”
“Okay, my princess,” Mary smiled through the fear in her heart. “I’m ready when you are ready.”
Silver nodded. The two made quick work of their meal, and Mary helped Silver get changed into the trousers she had brought along for the assignment. She didn’t need the hassle of the fluffy skirt of her long gown in case she needed to run.
