Chapter 12

“What are you doing?” Nate asked as he entered Jason’s room.

Jason started and grinned as his friend walked in. He pulled a shirt over his head and settled in bed, waving at Nate to sit beside him. Nate chuckled as he looked around the room.

“What are you up to?” Nate asked again, settling beside him. “Why would you hurriedly drag a shirt over your body as if I haven’t seen everything there is to see before?” he snorted.

Jason shook his head, reluctant to tell Nate that he was planning to go outdoors. He didn’t trust the princess to stay behind indoors as he had instructed her. He hoped her maid would be scared as he had seen her and keep her indoors. He couldn’t tell Nate his unwanted bride was found wandering about the palace like she was a spy. If he did, the pretty lady would lose her head faster than she could blink.

“I was just about to take a stroll when you came in,” Jason lied.
