Chapter 9
The day after her arrival was no different from the previous day. A maid came in at intervals to bring food to her and Mary. Nobody came to clean the house or get her laundry, as they expected Mary to get that done. Mary had gotten used to the maids, though they wouldn’t let her in the kitchen.
Mary was fine with that as long as she could run the bath for her princess and take care of her laundry. She also got to know of the gossip in the pack by listening to the maids, everything which she relayed to Silver when she was done.
Silver noticed the schedule of her days wasn’t changing, and it didn’t look like Nate — she had known his name through Mary through the gossip of the servants — wasn’t going to show. She smiled to herself. She could finally proceed with what she was there to do.
Mary walked in and smiled at the expression on Silver’s face. “What makes you smile, my princess?” she said as she sat beside her.
