Noella’s POV

“Chase her! Chase her and make sure you skin her alive!”

“Someone has killed my father; help! An assassin has come into our camp and killed my father!”

I heard loud, sorrowful voices as I took off into the dark, dangerous forest, unable to track where I was heading. I heard wolves hoofing and thunderous steps running behind me in full force. There was nowhere to hide, as they were determined on killing me.

I covered my bleeding lap with my hand and tried to run even when the pain expanded. I winced as I ran effortlessly. The injury made me too weak to continue, so as I was about to collapse, a strong arm grabbed my waist and pulled me into a corner.

“Her bleeding ended here. She must be around. Chase her!” The captain gingered at them in a loud voice, and the rest continued chasing into the deep forest, including furious wolves that have been serving the Abels all through their lives.
