Aiden was reluctant to pick up his ringing cell phone. Mira was the one calling. Since he’d started developing feelings for Cassie Moss, his feelings for Mira had been fading away. He finally picked up his phone, and Mira suggested that she wanted to come over and spend the night.

“That’s lovely,” he said.

“But I think I just want to spend tonight alone,” he continued.
