Valerie's POV

I had hoped the man would leave the room but instead he pulled out a chair and sat down. I remained on the floor trying to reduce how often I moved my body but it was becoming harder by the minute, my legs were cramping and my muscles were sore from being in one position for so long. I was tired, my throat was parched and my stomach kept on rumbling, a constant reminder that I had rushed out of my room without having a proper meal this morning.

A loud banging sound echoed through the room, before the sound of the door being flung open was heard.

“Boss, we've got a problem,” came a male voice filled with agitation.

“You know I don't like interruptions, what you have to say better be important” he replied with irritation.
