Chapter 8
Sapphire Watterson
Today started as a contrast to yesterday. The birds were happy, the trees were swaying their leaves, the sky was blue, and work was moving along smoothly, as it should be.
“Can I get a cup of latte at table 16?” one of the customers called out.
“On it,” I responded happily, moving trays and singing to myself. Not because something particularly good happened but because I woke up this morning and decided to choose peace, love, and light.
After crying myself to sleep thinking about Josh and his terrible attitude, I woke up feeling like someone had punched my eyes in the dream. Since today was a new day and a new morning, I had to show up for it. I got myself ready and attended to the respectful customers who needed a cup of coffee to start their day.
