Chapter 41. Jacob’s Wedding
Saturday arrived sooner than expected, and I had been really busy trying to complete my duties as Jacob’s best woman. We even threw them a couple of showers during the pre-wedding festivities, which was a blast. And there was another good news: Bear started to gain a little weight, which was good, although he is still a few pounds away from his ideal weight.
They were doing the wedding in the gardens of a five-star hotel and had invited only a few close friends and family. I was standing next to Jacob, who looked kind of nervous.
“Hey, talk to me,” I say, resting my hand on his shoulder.
“Am I looking okay?” he asks.
I smile at him. “You look more than okay, J.”
He grins, “You haven’t used that nickname in years.”
“I was saving it for the best time, and what’s a better time than my best friend’s wedding?” I said, and he nodded his head, agreeing.
