The smell of cleaning fluid made me feel dizzy, but I refused to move a single inch from my seat while Scarlet was in the operating room, fighting for her life. Her blood had dried up in my hands, and the stain was on my clothes as well. My hands were still shaking as I kept on looking at the door from time to time. Every second felt extended like an hour as I kept on changing positions, walking, sitting, standing- and never have I felt more lost than today.
Just a few days back, she was smiling and laughing with me. I can still hear the sound of her giggling in the dead silence of the empty room, and when I close my eyes, I see her smiling brightly while baking cookies for me. Her hair tied up in a messy bun, and her eyes burning with passion. And then the picture immediately changes to her lying in my arms, life draining from her eyes.
