Chapter 49. Letter for Ben
After the three of us had dinner together and made a mild conversation, the Grandmother went to bed early after taking her medicines while I retired to my bedroom but with the letter that was addressed to Ben lying in front of me.
After contemplating for a while, I made the decision to finally hand him the letter. But when I stepped out of my room, I noticed his bed was empty and tidy. Walking outside, it was completely dark, so I decided to check the roof, and as expected, he was there. He was staring at the night sky, holding a glass of wine in his hand.
It was slightly chilly tonight as I pulled on my hoodie close and walked over to him, standing next to his side. He must have heard me as he looked up at me. For a few passing seconds, we kept on staring at each other- his grey eyes, which used to be so cloudless, were now filled with emotions, and at the moment, he looked so much in pain.
I take a seat next to him as our arms brush briefly, sending shivers down
