Chapter 11. Rejecting His Marriage Proposal

Jacqueline sobbed into her pillow as her friends rushed into her room. 

“What happened Jackie? What did he say?” asked Claudia, sitting beside her and stroking her head. 

“You’re killing us, Jackie. Will you tell us why you’re crying?” asked Maria, standing beside her. 

“He asked me to marry him only to be a mom to his kids. He can’t love me ever after his ex-wife abandoned them,” she sobbed. 

“So, did you accept his proposal?” asked Lydia, widening her eyes with surprise. 

“No, I turned him down. I’d be a mom to kids unconditionally, but I wouldn’t marry him without love,” said Jacqueline. Diane clapped her hands. 

“Bravo Jackie. I’m proud of you,” she said with a smile. 

“By the way, I’m sure he’s crazy about you. He didn’t look as happy as he should be. Maybe he’s in denial right now, but I’m sure that he feels something for you. There are so many women. Why did he ask only you?” said Diane with convicti
