Chapter 2. Matched

Anita’s POV

After hitting the table and seeing the expressions of the three surprised men, I immediately returned to the table. Coincidentally, the waiter arrived and served the drinks, then left. I also drank my glass and focused again on completing my drawing.

Suddenly, a man in a white coat came over and sat on the chair opposite me.

“Ahem!” he cleared his throat.

While finishing the picture, I replied, “What? What do you want? Can you stop that ridiculous act of yours?”

“Hey, beautiful, what’s your name?”

“I don’t have time to get acquainted with a man like you, who almost harmed me just because of his selfishness!”

The man in the white coat smiled sinisterly, “Interesting! Don’t you know me?”

“No, only fools want to know you!” I answered and continued to focus on drawing until my sketch was complete. After that, I looked at the man in front of me. He was gorgeous and tall, had a nice body, and an excellent appearance.

“So you really don’t know me?”

“Exactly. Who are you? But wait. I don’t really care who you are; it has nothing to do with me!”

The man in the white coat looked at me for a moment, then stood up and returned to the two men. After he left, I hurried out of the cafe, making sure to pay for the drink I had ordered.

I could still feel the beauty of the scenery and the hustle and bustle of the city as I rushed home.

Third-Person POV

Meanwhile, the man in the white coat became the laughingstock of the two men.

“Young master, perhaps it is true that the times have changed, and you are no longer in power to the point that even a girl does not know you!” said one man, trying to hide his laughter.

“Hah, but she is so attractive and beautiful!” said the young master, putting a sweet smile on the faces of the two men. They both guessed that the young master had fallen in love with this girl.

Anita’s POV

Walking alone under the moonlight and the illumination of the streetlights, I started singing. It wasn’t long before I reached home. My arrival was greeted by my parents, servants, and guards. My parents, along with the maids and guards, were in the living room. It seemed that I would be in trouble for the journey I had taken.

My mother came up to me, hugged me tightly, and sat beside me.

“Mother and Father, I’m sorry, I left without permission,” I said, lowering my head.

“Dear, your father and I are not angry with you,” said my mother as she hugged me tightly and then let go.

“Then what is it?”

“Sweetheart, listen carefully. I have arranged a match for you. He is a young CEO. I’m sure you’ll like him!” said my dad.

I was surprised to hear what my father said. For a moment, I looked at my mother, who was near me.

“Match me to a man? But Dad, I don’t want to get married yet. Is this my punishment for leaving the house without permission?” I said casually, although deep down, I really wanted to argue.

“No buts. Agree or disagree, I don’t want to hear you reject this marriage!” said my father firmly.

With a relaxed face and an indifferent feeling, I was pretty sure that if I argued further, my dad would stick to his decision.

“It’s up to you!” I said, ending the conversation. I immediately left my parents and went to my room.

Third-Person POV

Anita’s parents watched their daughter leave. They both smiled sweetly and put their hands together.

“Yes! Finally, our daughter agreed to marriage!” said her mother happily.

“Yeah, I didn’t even think she would be so compliant!” replied her dad.

“But dear, it would be better if we brought our daughter to the party. Isn’t the young CEO also coming? I’m sure if the two of them spend time together, our daughter might fall in love with him!”

“Ah, yes, that’s a good idea. Isn’t the party tomorrow night? In that case, you’ll have to persuade her in the morning to come along and make herself as pretty as possible. But don’t mention that she is going to meet her fiancé; if she finds out, she’ll run away!”

“Yeah, yeah, alright. Don’t worry; I’ll make sure she comes to the party!”

Meanwhile, at the young master’s family’s large and luxurious house, several guards were seen protecting the place.

A middle-aged man with a cane, dressed in a neat suit, sat on the living room sofa with a man wearing a white coat.

“Son, the party welcoming you as the successor of the company will be held. We invited respectable families. Do you know the Na family?”

“Yes, I know them. The family owns the company and is a major competitor of ours. What about that family?” replied the man in the white coat, holding a drink and taking a sip.

“We have agreed to arrange a marriage for you with their daughter!” said the father, causing the man in the white coat to choke. He spat out his drink and almost hit his father. Fortunately, his father quickly covered his face with his hands.
