Lila’s POV
My backpack slung over one shoulder as I walked slowly through the school gate. The tall trees, the dispersed students and the large brown building all had the same appearance. But there was a change in feeling. It was heavier. The air itself seemed to be hiding something.
I hadn’t shared the message with anybody. Not Leah, not Ryder not even the principal.Just Mom. I had stayed home the day before I couldn’t stay home another day. I just wanted to go out.
