Chapter 12. I Deserve A Little Peace

Lila’s POV

My backpack slung over one shoulder as I walked slowly through the school gate. The tall trees, the dispersed students and the large brown building all had the same appearance. But there was a change in feeling. It was heavier. The air itself seemed to be hiding something.

I hadn’t shared the message with anybody. Not Leah, not Ryder not even the principal.Just Mom. I had stayed home the day before I couldn’t stay home another day. I just wanted to go out.

Even though my chest still felt tight from everything that was going on I had to act and behave normally.

I walked by a bunch of girls by the lockers. As I passed they stopped talking and I could feel their gaze on me.

“I heard she and Ryder would go on a date soon.”

“I thought he asked you out last night?” Another screamed excitedly.

“Wear the pink dress.”

Stupid, silly drama.
