Chapter 39. Someone You Love
Lila’s POV
“Hey, jet!” Ryder yelled to his teammate. “Over here.”
I was holding the book I was supposed to read and smiling, watching how fast and efficient Ryder was.
I only came here to stay away from the noisy hallway and every kind of commotion but I had met them practicing and I stayed. I was watching Ryder, and each time he moved like some kind of god like the rink was made for him alone. To me, hockey was kind of difficult and I didn’t understand much of what was going on in the rink but watching Ryder play gave me joy.
It made my heart dance, I wanted to see that smile when he moved gracefully. I actually forgot that I was supposed to solve an equation, I wanted to sit here all day long.
I smiled but it stopped when I remembered the life I had, the life fate had chosen for me. The dull reminder that I might be falling in love for nothing. I stared at Ryder and for a brief moment, it made me wish I could put everything else aside and just
