Chapter 9. Bewildered
I watched in fascination as the knife stopped a mere breath away from my face, hanging in the air, defying gravity. I tried to reach for it, but my whole body seemed to be glued to the wall. Stella stepped forward, advancing towards me menacingly.
“Apart from being the Luna here, I am also a witch, the most powerful in the region. I learned from the freaking best, so you should know your place,” she spat as she halted in front of me.
Her fingers slowly latched around the knife that was just mere inches away from my face. With an evil glint in her eyes, she grabbed it away, sending it flying back to where it came from, and she walked away, her nightgown billowing after her as she walked.
Immediately, she was out the door, I felt the mystic force that kept me stuck to the wall fall away as I regained the reins of my body. I fell to the floor in a heap as I tried to calm my racing heart.
