Chapter 11
Edmond sat at the table and Imani joined him, rather enthusiastically. He served himself a sandwich and a scone, with some coffee. Despite the banquet before him, he didn't want to fill his plate since he had earlier stated that he wasn't hungry. Imani was right, the sandwich was amazing. He ate quickly and in silence, keeping his eyes on his food. Thankfully, Imani also ate, and watched him, in silence.
When he was done eating, he thanked her and stood up with his plate but she stopped him and told him that the staff would take care of it. Immediately, a woman, one of the women that assisted the chef yesterday, rushed to his side and cleared all the dishes he used to eat. He thanked her and she simply nodded in response, scared that if her boss caught her smiling at her love interest, she might skin her alive.
