Chapter 155. The Crusade
Red knocked on Aelea's bedroom door several times, but there was no answer. Curious, she opened it and saw that her sister's bed was already empty.
Even though it was early in the morning, Aelea was nowhere to be found. Sighing, Red closed the door and made her way to the pantry.
Aelea had locked herself in her room since last night. Fiona was firm that Aelea should "know her place" and apologize to Red.
Unfortunately, Aelea seemed unwilling to talk to her sister. In fact, she had left early in the morning to avoid a confrontation.
Red had wanted to have a heart-to-heart with Aelea, because leaving things unresolved would only make the atmosphere worse. They used to fight every day, bickering without hesitation. But now Aelea's behavior had changed.
What bothered Red wasn't Aelea's accusation that she was selfish, but something else. Perhaps Aelea had seen Red with Jonah, which might have made her uncomfortable.
