Chapter 14. Numb the Pain

Emery’s POV

Ethan left me at the lobby so I rushed back to the office and slammed the door closed. “What the hell was that, Ethan? Who gave you the right to do this to me?”

He smirked. “Was it hard for you to accept that this position belongs to me, Emery?”

I gritted my teeth as my eyes sharpened. “I will tell dad about this!”

“He knows, Emery! Come on!”

My forehead creased. “What?”

The door swung open and Martina entered the office. She shot an eyebrow up after seeing me.

“What are you doing here, Emery?”

“What did you do, Martina?”

She smirked at me. “We just took back what belongs to us!”

“Belongs to you?” I laughed without humor. “This company belongs to my mother! You think-faced bitch!”

“Well, she’s dead, Emery. She was eaten by worms a long time ago and—”

I slapped her. Ethan shouted and joined her but I didn’t back down. I was about to grab Martina’s hair when a group of security entered the offic
