Chapter 133. What Is She?

Josh’s blunt response hit me like a ton of bricks. I knew he was being honest, but it did not make it any easier to hear. And I was not expecting that. Mark had made mistakes, but I still cared about him, and the thought of him being locked away indefinitely was hard to accept.

Maybe the fact that he’s in prison is better right now, it might be the only thing keeping him safe considering that he was working with dangerous people,” He explained, shrugging as if he had just told me the time.
