Chapter 162. We Need Suspects

I could feel everyone’s eyes on me. I knew that I had to say something, they all expected me to do so. But I just sat there, staring at the detective, trying to figure out what to say or do. 

My heart was racing and I could feel the anxiety eating me up. 

“Lisa,” Josh said in a soft tone. He was sitting next to me and tapped my shoulder gently as a way to catch my attention. 

I finally peeled my eyes off the detective and locked eyes with Josh. “What?” 

“He asked you a question,” He replied. 

I looked away from Josh and saw that Nora’s parents were looking at me too. They seemed concerned. I swallowed hard and then began, “I’m fine.” 

“You’re fine?” The detective scoffed. “How are you fine? Your car is a wreck. You literally jumped out of a car moving so many miles per hour. If you are not hurt visibly, you should get checked for internal bleeding.” 

“I said I’m fine,” I replied in a hard tone.
