Chapter 254. The Cure

Josh’s eyes softened as I said the words. It looked like he was carefully considering what I had just said. His fingers kept going to his hair absentmindedly. He was about to speak and then was stopped when the waiter came to clear the table. 

We offered our thanks and watched the guy do his job. After he was done, he left, making sure to flash us polite smiles before leaving. 

Josh cleared his throat, capturing my attention again. “Survival still takes strength,” He said, keeping his eyes on mine. “Anyway, let’s try to leave, I want to take you somewhere.” 

“Please don’t let it be another grave,” I groaned jokingly and he froze. I immediately felt my heart drop as I regretted what I had just said. “I…um, I’m sorry.”
